PET CARE PLAN

Nothing in life is cheap these days, and keeping pets is no exception. So how would you like a way to budget throughout the year for all the regular preventative treatments for your dog or cat? Things like vaccinations, flea, tick and worm control, plus lungworm prevention for dogs, are all covered under our Pet Care Plan which is paid by affordable monthly direct debit payments. Prices are £17.00 per month for cats and from £20 per month for dogs depending on size.

New for 2020 is an additional postal service: for an extra £1.50 per month we can arrange to have your pet’s flea and worm treatments delivered to your door, once every 3 months. If you already have the Pet Care Plan, the postage option can easily be added – just let us know.

The Pet Care Plan also entitles the pet to an extra six-month check-up, nail clips and microchipping if required. Plus members also receive 10% discount on all other pet treatments, including consultation fees and medications through to operations, neutering, x-rays, dental treatment – pretty well everything! (Food excepted)

Give us a call to ask for more details on how Pet Care Plan can work for you!

We are now able to offer three different methods of lungworm prevention for dogs at Cobham Veterinary Centre. One of which is a spot-on treatment, one is a monthly worming tablet, and the third is also a monthly tablet that also covers fleas and ticks. There are now several parasite control products on the market, giving greater flexibility to owners. Please feel free to talk to a member of our team for more information today.

The Africa Trust

We know that keeping our team hydrated will help them to perform to their very best throughout the day. Due to this, we have decided to invest in water coolers from AquAid. Our unique relationship with AquAid has also given our company the opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

Our decision to install a water cooler from AquAid means that for each of the machines that we have, we have donated £20 per year per cooler to The Africa Trust. Through our contributions to The Africa Trust, an ‘Elephant Pump’ is being installed in Africa on our behalf. This pump will bring much needed, clean, fresh drinking water and improve the quality of life of those who will have access to our well.

Our company’s name will be displayed proudly on the well and we look forward to adding some photos and letters of thanks from the villages to our site in the near future.

BREXIT AND YOUR PET’S PASSPORT

Now that the UK has left the EU, travel arrangements for pets have changed. The blue 'Pet Passports' are no longer valid for travel, and instead owners will need to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for each trip to Europe. Pets require a rabies vaccination at least 21 days before your trip, and an AHC issued by your vet within 10 days of your arrival into the EU. Please call or email the surgery for further information, and note that we require at least 7 days' notice of a requirement for an AHC, which is a 10 page document that takes us a while to complete.
For travel to countries outside the EU, there will be different requirements. For more information:
  • search for 'Pet export' on the gov.uk website
  • phone the pet travel helpline on 0370 241 1710
  • for exports outside the EU email exports@apha.co.uk or phone 03000 200 301
